Imagining BK never came and it’s June 2022…and if you could pick one for eternity and they were the only two options. All on- and off-the-field evidence to today’s date is admissible

Inb4 stupid thought. There was a beef in another thread about the relative values of the two in LSU history.

You have to go Miles there. Orgeron was unlikely to ever repeat anything close to 2019 and he'd be fighting just to be average the rest of his career. Miles actually sustained a high level of success for a very long time.

Miles was the better coach. It was time for both of them to go when they did (maybe even a bit past due for both of them)

Let it go.

This, not even a question. 0 could never have a decade of sustained success in the premiere division in all of college football. And before anyone pisses and moans, Les had sustained success whether you choose to admit it.

why are we having these kind of threads on the week of the SEC championship that we are playing in though?

Look at the shape the program was in when both left it. Miles left a roster that featured studs all over the field, he just couldn't coach them up anymore. Orgeron left a absolute disaster with sub 40 scholly players. I didn't love Miles but O was way worse.

Indeed. I don't loathe Les the coach, but the stuff that came out years later soured me on him completely.

He was a better coach than 90 percent of the coaches in the NCAA. Mostly because he was trench focused. I always wonder if Kragthorpe as an OC might have changed the dynamics of our offense in 2011 or if Ryan Perrilloux not being an idiot would have given him the weapon he needed to not withdraw into his old-school mentality.

But it was definitely better that he was not the LSU coach at the time that his peccadillos were exposed.

As one of my buddies often says, if Saban has success at Miami or simply does not come back to Alabama, Miles probably goes down as the greatest head coach in LSU history with multiple NCs.

On the other hand, If Joe burrow goes to Cincinnati, Oregon is probably fired when Aleva is.

But who knows?

Give me pre divorce Coach O 10/10 times. He at least was going to stumble in to being competent on offense by letting the OC do whatever he wanted.

Miles was never going to change ever.

2019 never happens if Miles stayed. This is a terrible thread for the week of the SEC championship
