it's sad most of you don't understand O isn't going anywhere soon. He's probably there until at least halfway into 2022.

Or more like he is being realistic, I'm not even sure 2022 is doable, probably looking after the 2023 year.

And on another subject, you think its going to even help with what LSU has for administration?

Did you not see auburn pay 21 million to make gus go away? South Carolina swallow a huge buyout for muschamp? Hell did you see lsu pay all that money to fire the support staff last year?

Whatever it would cost to fire o and the staff, and yes we will negotiate a lower buyout, is nothing compared to what the progrM would lose if he is allowed to put out a shite product for two more seasons. This is actually MORE true in a post covid athletic department that needs every penny

Were about to be bringing in close to 70 mil a year in tv revenue. I don’t want to say the buyout isn’t a consideration but it’s not the insurmountable obstacle some are making it to be.

Were you one of the people who didn’t think LSU could pay a women’s coach 2 milli?

Anyone that doesn't think there are reasons to fire O "with cause" is blind. They will negotiate a significantly lower buyout and he will take it if time comes.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Then we'd be in prime position for Urban Meyer after the Jacksonville experiment fails after 2 seasons.

The problem is that LSU isn't the one who will be footing the bill for buying out this staff. The donors who lay out the cash have to be getting tired of paying off every bad coach Orgeron has hired. And now they have to pay off the idiotic extension Woodward gave to Orgeron and his new staff.

Then again, if they're as fed up Orgeron as many of us are, they might pay anything to get rid of him

Nope we’ve been down this road before with Alleva , surely SW is smarter than that.

I would love this hire! LSU will make sure the next head coach is black though, so I advise everyone to start looking at black candidates only. Just being realistic here.

When Alabama fired Mike Shula I asked a Bama friend of mine how they could afford to pay that kind of buy out.
His response was , “We can’t afford not to.”

Looking back it now seems like a no brainer.

We need to have a vision of where we need to be in 2024 after conference expansion.
If we fall into a rut of being a middle of the conference team we may be stuck there for a long long time.

The question is whether Orgeron can make us and maintain us as a top tier team. If not we need to cut ties sooner rather than later.
