Larson, Milam, and Anderson seem like supplemental players to an NC team akin to Jobert, Pearson, and Hurd. But those guys aren't winning it all for you. Obviously Cam has the chance to be there but still has a ways to go. I just don't see a very positive trajectory right now and worry that we are truly going the way of Ole Miss and Piss State

Our little Mexican will lead us to a title one day. I can feel it.

Milam and Anderson are championship team core capable. Those guys can be studs that bring the “it” factor.

It’s a valid concern. We had generational, record setting players last year in Crews, Skenes, and White. I’m not sure we have anyone close to those guys on the roster currently..

I think White is on par with White.

No shite huh? We don't have anybody comparable to the best pitcher and best position player to ever come through LSU. Those should be so easy to replace.

Yeah that’s why I said they were generational players right before that. That’s kind of the point. The freshman class is full of guys that could be a Beloso, Dugas, or Jobert but that’s not going to win you a championship. Hell I’m not sure we have a freshman that’s even on the level of Tre Morgan. Looking at the current freshman and sophomore classes who can lead a championship team? Jones and Herring maybe?

I would never write off any player after only their freshman season. But I think a big issue this year is that Jay had too much confidence in last years freshman making that leap and outside of Jones none have. Had he known I think we would have been more aggressive position player wise in the portal.

So you know they are "generational" players, but you think every team that wins a championship has to have those? They are generational players because they don't come around very often at all. Plenty teams have won without a Skenes or Crews.

Larson is going to be the best of those 3.

As to the 3 generational players (Crews, White, & Skenes) 2 of those were transfers. LSU is very capable of pulling 2 or 3 generational players out of the portal at some point.

I would start Larson, Brown, and Milam the rest of the season. The more sec experience these guys can get, the better they will be for next year.

This is a good point. You don't have to have Skenes or Crews level players to win a championship. Of course it does help.

Think how different this year's team would be with a couple extra good transfers like Brayden Montgomery and we were close to getting some more.

Now with the transfer portal things can change quick. You probably heard them say on the broadcast that CJJ is already familiar with and looking at good left handed bats across college baseball. I think last year with the distraction of Omaha and winning a championship, CJJ didn't work the transfer portal as good as he would have liked. He will fix that this year.

I also think we have a good core of guys that can improve. Anderson, Milam, C. Johnson, Brown, Larson, Kucherack, are just some of the guys that will improve.

If we could get our Sophmore slumpers like Pearson, Kling, Neal to improve by next season and grab a couple transfers we might be able to build another Omaha team next year.

He is New Mexican, dipshit, and he at least has upside and plays like the games matter.

No I don’t think every championship team has guys like that, which is also why I said i don’t think we have anyone close to them. We have a some good role players on this team and that’s really it. Hurd was legitimately bad for the majority of last year and you had people thinking that he would be a Friday night ace because of one game against Florida.

I think Larson is gonna be really good, but Anderson is probably gonna be our Friday night guy the next 2 years. He’s gonna be a stud.

Larson does some outstanding nearly every time he plays. He has great energy, competes at the plate, and looks like a future line up fixture

And I’m trying to think of a more projectible LHP freshman coming in than Anderson & I can’t think of one.

It’s not his fault Johnson has used him very, very poorly
