Born and raised Catholic, have been a twice a year Mass attendee last several years because, honestly, I don't get anything out of it. I'm not a fan of a lot of things the Catholic Church is doing these days, and most Mass services that I have been too are boring and stale.

I consider myself a spiritual person, pray daily, but Mass hasn't been interesting for me, so it's not a priority.

Wife (no pics) has a friend who goes to Church of the King in Mandeville. Wife has been with the friend to a couple of these women's events they have had, and now wife wants our family to attend a service there. So, we are going to an Easter Saturday service there tonight.

So, what should I expect? Is this a crazy, people falling over on stage overcome with the spirit type place? Do they constantly ask for money? Is it a good service / good music? Do they put a hard sell on for new attendees?

Any thing I need to know?

If you are Catholic, you will always feel like the other churches are fake churches.

People who don’t go to church then complain it’s meaningless remind me of people who never exercise and then say it’s awful when they do.

Spoiler alert, you don’t have to visit church to make it to “heaven”

Be a decent person. Pray at home. Enjoy your Sundays off. The end.
According to the Catholic religion, Sunday is a day of rest.
Who said you need to go to one of 17 constructed buildings in a 5 mile radius, give them your money, twice, in an hour, eat a stale cracker and go home, to make it to heaven?

You should never go to Mass to “get something out of it”. It’s not about you receiving anything. It’s about giving your time in worship to He who has given you everything. Once you understand that your life isn’t about you it changes everything!

Lol mass is a ritual to prep yourself to receive communion and the blessing of Christ.

Go to a baptist church if you want cookies and a progressive gospel rock show.

You obviously don’t understand Catholicism. It’s the original Christian religion, everything during mass is strictly from the Bible. No made up or woke content.

You’ve obviously never read the Bible.

People who go to church to “get something out of it” should stay home. It’s not about your entertainment.

I spent 12 years in Catholic school studying the religion. I could hurt your feelings with how much in that book was shroom enhanced.
Go to a building they said to go to. I’ll see you at the same place when we die.

Sounds like you need to find a Catholic Church that fits you.

If you live in Nola I would suggest trying out St. Rita’s. The pastor there is great.

Never been. Proud Catholic here.

But I have some acquaintances who attend there. All of them are divorced or single moms.

Definite alt rock pop music services complete with hands up and light shows based on the pics I've seen. If that's your thing, you'd enjoy.

That's an issue right there.

Either make a commitment to go every week or nearly every week, or don't go at all.
