Nice. I have a Laco chrono and I need to get on with ordering a new factory strap for it. The prior owner colored the white stitching blue. To each his own, I guess.

Firstly, y’all have a bunch of nice watches. Second, I have a question for GMT owners. Do yall actually have a need for a GMT or just like the looks? I always felt funny thinking about getting a GMT when a dive watch can be a timer also. Third, guy who says Tudor is a poor man’s Rolex is wrong. New tudors are getting metas certified with in house movements and offer colorways not in Rolex’s catalog.
Also couldn’t pull trigger on a Pelagos either. Looks good on paper but looks so “flat” in person. Looks way cheaper than it is IMO

They're nice when traveling or when needing to track the time in a second (or third) time zone for work.

There are some combo GMT/Divers out there now such as the Seiko SPB38X (I have a 383), the Mido Ocean Star GMT, and the Lorier Hydra. I'm sure there are others, but those come to mind. They are dive watches first. We won't get into flyer vs. caller GMT.

I'm on the fence about Tudor. I don't own one, but I think they look cool and like the size of the BB58. But for the price, I would buy an Omega Seamaster or Speedy. It's all theoretical to me because I can't mentally justify wearing a watch that pricey. Anything that would be recognized as costing over a few hundred bucks on my wrist just isn't for me. For now.

Yea, that is definitely not true. I have bought several vintage Tudor watches in between buying Rolex.

I don’t own a GMT at the moment, but the only one I would consider is a flyer style movement, where I clan change only the primary time quickly while the GMT hand stays on my local time. Another reason I don’t have one is I don’t change time zones drastically or often because I never fly across the pond(s), so I don’t need it.

Yes! I am with you. I’ve gone to see/ buy a Pelagos 3 times and left empty handed. I didn’t get the flat feeling you did, but it just felt dainty. Like I was going to break it. Weird, I wanted to love it but I didn’t. I partially blame that on titanium, but it is what it is.

I seem to have a thing for them, and the "true GMT" movement ones are my favorite. I like the heritage of the GMT Master II and have four of them (two of which are pictured above in this thread), a 16710 I bought in 1999 with a Pepsi bezel that I just changed to Coke (for this watch I have both bezel inserts and both the original oyster bracelet and the correct Jubilee), a 116710 LN (2019), a 126710 BLNR Jubilee (2023) and 126711 CHNR Root Beer (2024). The last two came from two different ADs in a very short period of time and I had never really planned on keeping the BLNR, but can't part with it as the Super Jubilee on these watches is my favorite bracelet of any watch I've ever had.
I typically keep the triangle tipped GMT hand on home time so it displays in 24 hr time and the jump hour hand on local time wherever I am at a given time. I used to keep it on UTC, but had no real need for that.
I also have an IWC fiieger UTC that displays the second TZ in an arced cut out on the top half of the dial and also has a date window at 3 o'clock and a jump hour hand. Its a nice 38 mm size, a little thick, but very nicely proportioned. Lastly I have a Nomos Zurich World time Nachtblau that is nice to look out, but one of the least legible watches I've ever had. It has an inner ring moveable by a push button that displays 24 world timezones marked by city names, small print, busy but hands are sleek, and dial color is a nice unusual blue color.
I'm not a pilot, but now that we don't have kids at home anymore, travel a good bit and I like to take a GMT with me. It is a pretty simple and useful complication.

I twice owned a 656 back in the early 2000's when they first started appearing stateside. Had it on the black buffalo first and the second one I owned had it on bracelet. I've always thought that 104 was a good looking watch.

I just got back from London this morning. The quickest hour is awesome (I’m OCD about setting time to the second) so the quick set hour is great and useful to have the home time.

Anyone own a Vulcain Cricket on here? I know they are only 34mm but they have a cool history and thinking about getting one from mid 60’s just not sure about parts for movement and servicing availability etc.

116600 aka Sea Dweller 4000 My favorite of the SDs except the Double Red and Comex models but that is a different level. Last of the 40mm and the first with a ceramic bezel, outside of being a little on the chunky side it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Never had one but they are cool and one of the "presidents" watches. I don't know about parts/service but you can probably get some info on WUS.
I know they are more expensive but the new ones are 39mm and look like the originals otherwise and have display backs which is cool because the movement doesn't look like just another ETA or clone.

This 556 stays close in particular because it's such an interesting size. It's almost too small, but it's all in-your-face dial, so it wears great. It's like the smallest large wearing watch I know of, but also the largest small wearing watch I know of.
