New boss is taking me duck hunting in costal North Carolina mid January for 2.5 days, weather is historically in the 40s. He has given me a list of things to bring. Is there anything else I am going to want/need or is dead weight and I should just leave it behind. For the things I still need, recommendations are welcome.

12 gauge
100 shells 2 shot
Waders
Waterproof camo jacket with hood (mine doesn't have a hood, is that critical)
long johns
Camo hoodie
Thick wool socks
Camo fleece toboggan
Camo ball cap
Camo face mask (don't have this)
Camo gloves (or this, probably okay spending big money on gloves)
Shell belt
Blind Bag

Hoodie, jacket with hood, camo hat, camo beanie... that's a lot of shite on your head but it will be warm!

Are you hunting out of a blind, boat, flooded timber?

Face mask - you don't need to be looking around all over when ducks are working too, look straight with your hat brim down and wait for them to call the shot. White faces flare more ducks than people think

That is more so I can mix and match depending on weather....

I think blind and timber, but not totally sure. We are using some outfit for a guide.

Get your boss a good bottle of his favorite brown water.

I live in Kentucky now. I've spent more on bourbon for this trip than everything else. Hell, I'm borrowing the gun and waders.

Visit Mack's or Rogers and start shopping!!

Mack's or Rogers

For timber hunting, you can attach a shell pack on your waders, if the waders have D-Rings.

I like to have a couple screw in hooks so I can hang my bag & shotgun if I'm in the timber.

If your waders have good insulation in the boot, then just buy a couple pairs of long wader socks.

Ankle gators make it easy to get your pant legs into the waders.

Shotgun sling is helpful in the timber but not needed in the blind.

12 gauge
100 shells 2 shot (may not be enough for 3+ hunts, depending on type of hunting and/or your shooting skills)
Waders
Waterproof camo jacket with hood (mine doesn't have a hood, is that critical) (hood not critical unless rain forecasted)
long johns
Camo hoodie
Thick wool socks
Camo fleece toboggan
Camo ball cap
Camo face mask (don't have this) (not necessary, just be diligent about keeping your face down and not stare at working birds)
Camo gloves (or this, probably okay spending big money on gloves) (doesn't have to be camo, and not needed for me in 40° temps)
Shell belt (not necessary unless your bag isnt next to you and cumbersome to unload and reload if hunting is fast paced)
Blind Bag

Make sure all of your camo matches. Nothing scares off wild game more than mismatched camo.

I'm just impressed that the list didn't have face paint on it (unless I just missed it)

Oh, but get some 3.5" shells and ask to sit in the middle of the blind so you can shoot over the head of everyone else.
