He meant it within the context of Catholic dogma but it's still an asinine and arrogant take
Hope this dude gets to his purgatory session in short order

This happens a lot with Francis.
He gives an interview with a secular media person. He gives of a sloppy answer that can be easily misrepresented by secular media person. Outrage occurs. Rinse repeat.

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis formally approved letting Catholic priests bless same-sex couples, the Vatican announced Monday, a radical shift in policy that aimed at making the church more inclusive while maintaining its strict ban on gay marriage.
But while the Vatican statement was heralded by some as a step toward breaking down discrimination in the Catholic Church, some LGBTQ+ advocates warned it underscored the church’s idea that gay couples remain inferior to heterosexual partnerships.
I stand corrected in that it is homosexual couples not marriages because there's no way this Overton window slides further to the left

In order to stop the confusion, maybe he should simply stop entertaining those interviews.
I agree.
Leftists of all stripes should sit down and be quiet.

So, that’s a no, then. Good talk.

F%ck that guy. These marxists have done a great job of destroying Christianity as we know it.
I agree with your sentiment on your first statement, but this guy doesn’t represent Christianity, Jesus represents Christianity. Any Christian that still gives this loser any credibility doesn’t know Jesus Christ or his teachings. Wolf in sheep’s clothing

A dogmatic box is kind of what the Pope is supposed to be right? Hold the line and not succumb to the flavor of the month?

And liberalism is a mental illness. Unfortunately for Pope Francis, almost every good practicing Catholic on the planet would be considered more conservative or traditional. So the Church needs these members, but the members do not need Francis.

What is suicidal is to embrace sin and the world over standing on the truth of the Gospel. This pope is the worst one in 700 years at least. I hope and pray the next Pope does a lot to right the evil wrongs of Francis.

Why should I re-state to you that which is clearly explained and footnoted in on Catholic Answers and the Catholic Catechism? I haven't got time for that.
Besides, the topic of the thread was how the mainline Protestant denomination of Methodists have officially embraced Homosexual Sex, Homosexual Pastors, Gay Church Marriage and all things Homosexual.
I focused my discussion on how this mainline Protestant denomination has been a Bible Alone denomination for centuries and remains so today. Your questions were an attempt to divert the conversation into a discussion of a list of questions about Catholic theology.
Why should I help you hijack a thread about how Protestants can't make up their minds whether Homosexual Sex, Homosexual Pastors and Homo Church marriage is embraced by Almighty God?

The Catholics believe in faith plus works, which is backed up in scripture (though faith alone is also backed up in scripture - a contradiction). So Catholic doctrine requires actually doing stuff, and it’s kind of modeled after the gospel versions of Jesus.
What did the Jesus of the gospels say to do? Hate your family to follow Jesus (put Jesus on a higher level of importance than your own family is my interpretation). Help the blind, the sick, the lame, the disadvantaged, the poor. Sell all your worldly possessions and give them to the poor. Roam around as a homeless man preaching to people on the street while yourself begging for food. Everyone is your neighbor… even the good for nothing shite eating lowlife scumbag Samaritans. So people of other nations are your neighbors, brethren even.
I could see how these teachings could influence Catholic thought to the point the Pope is spouting Marxist ideas.
