On condition that no bills include pork or regulations passed related to climate change. The $1M would be given annually as long as the criteria is maintained.

We would be trillions less in debt.

Wouldn’t take them long to find a way to get their million and still get the pork.

I agree with you in theory but I'd give them $1 Million a year but dock them $10,000 for every hour they spend 'working'

I'd also mandate that they play 18 holes before actually doing any work whatsoever

The less they get accomplished the better off we all are

Betcha biden already has an executive order to pay feds in advance for six months, before the govt shuts down and funds run out.

I'd rather see taxpayer money go to a bounty system. Anyone who finds pay for play or kickbacks and can provide the evidence gets 25% of the findings. The cheeters lose all pensions, voting rights, positions/seats, and must pay back all money grifted from the taxpayer. This includes both sides. Any corp, agency, or org loses liason & lobbying rights for 6 years. Any country loses all federal aid for 10 years.

I’d just settle for term limits.

They make much more than a million a year. Their currency just happens to be favors.

Why would they take the pay cut? They earn more than that already taking kick backs from "green" companies and beneficiaries of "pork" projects

Most people in congress would PAY to work there. They don't care about the salary.

We have them. 2 years for the house, 6 for the senate. Voters don't want term limits.

They get way more than that $1-million kicked back to them on the reg once in office long enough to figure out the game.

The Ibrahim Prize is an interesting concept. Lead your country well and leave at the end of your term. Walk away with $5.0MM.

I wish a billionaire here would make a similar offer. Term limit yourself, and walk away with a couple million. If you overstay, then you get nothing.

If it meant getting rid of some of the idiots, then I’d support a taxpayer funded program.

$1 million annually is chump change compared to what their families and friends are taking in off the taxpayers backs

Why would Congress critters take a pay cut?

Believe me, they make plenty more from the green lobby.

That would be dropping a dollar to pick up a dime for them.

Last time I was in DC I had SecInt and the head of BIA try to hold up a project I was working on for a 2.5 mil “feasibility study” to be done by a certain law firm on K street. (Already had 2 done before that, so I walked out and didn’t pay the bribe)

A congressional rep would have asked for at least twice that.
