Maher: Biden Would Have Avoided Debates if He Was Winning, Trump Wouldn’t Avoid Them

Maher said, “Let’s talk about these debates — I don’t really want to, but it is what’s going on in the country. And, first of all, to me, it says Biden knows he’s losing, because else he wouldn’t have agreed, right? Only the loser wants to debate. Trump always wants a crowd. So, that’s different. But this is what’s so interesting about it, I’ve never seen a summer debate, not for presidential elections. They’re always in October, right before the election. This one — June 27, that’s not even — they haven’t had the convention yet.”

Can’t stand the guy, but occasionally he says something I agree with. Biden does know he’s losing. Obiden knows he’s losing. Sleepy Joe’s handlers and caretakers know he’s losing.

Like Mahr said only the losers want a debate. There was no reason for Trump to give air to groups of people that wouldn’t be in the race

This is how the Dems get him out of the race and end up with a shot in November - allow him to go off the rails before he’s actually the nominee, pressure him to release delegates at the convention

Debates aren’t even about intelligence or quality points made. It’s not like high school Speech & Debate competitions where you tally up scores based on who makes the best arguments. It’s just optics and messaging
