Is that a fair/true statement, or am I too optimistic?

Maybe the kids had fun and got a lot of exercise. Maybe they learned something about the sport. Maybe they enjoyed meeting new friends. Maybe they learned the importance of showing up for your teammates and the consequences of not showing up.
Maybe the focus shouldn’t have been placed on just winning even though I believe you teach kids to try to be winners. There was plenty of opportunity there for the kids to learn and grow.
Maybe you should change your focus.
