My last flight the couple behind us used our bin (paid for Comfort+) to put her purse, his book sack, and their jackets because they used all their space with luggage. I went to remove their stuff and it caused a scene to where the FA took my luggage towards the back. Then I had to wait on the plane till it was clear to go find my luggage so that I could exit the plane.

That along with Delta changing their status perks has me flying to cheapest flight now.

I understand this.

I was questioning the post suggesting no carryon luggage at all is the ideal situation. Curious how this would go down in his mind.

Wasn't questioning you... just stating its pretty damn easy for FAs to do.

The airlines should stage FAs every third of the plane and anyone who puts a purse/backpack/whatever in the overhead should immediately be scolded and told to put it under their seat.

Can't get punked.

Was one of the last to board a flight from Frankfurt to Barcelona in December and when I opened the bin it was full of jackets (Frankfurt was snowing).

I just started pulling that shite out and putting my bag in making those Euros claim their stuff.

If you are disabled or so fat you have to get on first, you should have to get off last.

Or go back to charging serious carryon fees. I have status on a few so I dont' pay, but there should be a level where folks have to pay big time. Would solve a lot of problems.

it’s backwards…checked bags cost the passenger money but carrying on a Volkswagen is free LOL

make checked bags free and charge for carryon and the world is a better place

Real time experience… just boarded SW flight and the FA watched 2 people put backpacks in overhead instead of under the seat in front. Didn’t say a word.

They really don’t give a shite and have said flight is completely full multiple times.

If they quit charging the BS fees for checking bags

This, especially when they force half of the plane to gate check them anyway.

I've flown close to 1M on Delta over the years. With status, who cared. Now I don't have it anymore, so we've been just checking in a bag each and taking an acceptable size carry on (I use the Osprey Transporter 36L and it works great, even under the seat, except those occasional narrow arse aisle seats you get sometimes, so then I go up top). Often upgrade to Comfort Plus, which adds some advantage. And we have the Delta Amex Card which offers some early boarding advantage.

Curious...

Coming home, the airline asked people to check their carry on for free and I volunteered for that. I don't care if my carry on is late coming home.
So I breezed to my seat with only a small backpack at my feet.

Did they bring it out to the breezeway you have to go to baggage claim?

It went to baggage claim, but I already had to go there to get my checked bag.

When we were flying to Europe, I wanted my carry on in case my checked luggage got lost. Coming home I was more relaxed about ti.

Yea, pisses me off seeing people lug a huge bag onto the plane. The airlines just need to assign each over top bin to its assigned seat. They already have em labeled. But sure enough, when I go sit down at 19A, there's usually someone else's bag already in the 19A bin. Math doesn't check out.

Typically, back seater paranoia or arrogance. I'll put my bag wherever I see space closer to the entrance, so I get mine.
