re: LSU at Fleming's Hosting Recuit
Posted by paper tiger on 6/9/24 at 5:03 pm
Last I heard he sold most of his interest in all the restaurants he helped start including Outback. Then bought a winery in Napa selling high end wines.
Outback bought Flemings a long time ago, Paul Fleming had nothing to do with starting Outback. The winery is run by his first wi...

Pretty sure he worked for Ruth Fertel at some point too.
Paul was a franchisee with Ruth, he never worked for her. ...

If it were Ruth’s Chris, the recruit would’ve signed at the table
As an aside, Flemings was founded by Paul Fleming, as was PF Changs. Paul is an LSU alum and still a big LSU fan. Before Flemings, Paul had a handful of Ruth Chris’s out west. Ruths Chris was a forerunner of Flemi...
re: Marinanara would have taken Hellmers out in the 5th for a “favorable match up”
Posted by paper tiger on 6/3/24 at 7:17 pm
That could be true, but it’s equally true that if the last hit went over the fence instead of a fly out, we would have a half dozen “tiger” fans on here trashing Jay for leaving Hellmers in too long. To your point though, I like Jays coaching style. ...
2-2 feels pretty good
Posted by paper tiger on 6/3/24 at 6:05 pm
After such a shaky start. This game has a roller coaster feel about it. The LSU fans that can take it should buckle up, could be a fun ride. The ones calling out coaches and individual players after half an inning should take up knitting or maybe try anger mgt. ...

Haha. Nothing screams that I am a miserable frick more than someone hating our World Series champ coach and our best pitcher over one pitch.
When any LSU player makes a bad play in any big game, it’s like the roaches on here all appear from nowhere.

Our hitting this year seems to run hot or cold
Posted by paper tiger on 6/1/24 at 6:16 pm
There has been so little in between. We seem to light it up or struggle.
But they had so many improbable come from behind innings in Hoover, and even yesterday, so there is still hope the bats will appear. ...
re: Has Holman gotten any borderline calls?
Posted by paper tiger on 6/1/24 at 5:34 pm
I dont know about calls, but Holman is a pitching maestro. Lots of pitchers throw harder than he does. But very few work the zone like he does with a variety of spins, his ability to locate the ball and the way he changes speeds.
To hit his pitches, the batter almost has to guess right. He ...
He was running on the outside of bag then slide into base. They will call that interference every time. Look at replay he is more outside base path than in it. He is a senior should know better
He is a senior and it was obvious he knew what he was doing. He was sliding, within the...
Vegas is really bad with college baseball to be fair

Vegas does not set the line based upon who they think has the best chance of winning. They set the line at the spot where they think it will get an even flow of money in on both sides of the bet. Thats how vegas wins, it cant ...

The SEC tnmt is a good watch
Posted by paper tiger on 5/21/24 at 9:29 pm
LSU being on the bubble for the tournament made our game more exciting to watch. And it was fun to drink the tears of Georgias whiny coach after the game.
I find myself watching all the other games, games today as well, games that arguably all could have impacted our chances. College baseball...
re: How many in the SEC tourney to remove the sweat?
Posted by paper tiger on 5/18/24 at 5:13 pm
Every little bit helps.
If Auburn can beat Bama tonight, that will drop Bama a game behind us. That would no doubt hurt Bama’s chances , which in turn improves our chances.
If we had only won just one more SEC game, like the close losses to Bama and Florida, we would probably be in for sur...

First, Holly will return.
Second, we may have multiple RBs in the top 5. And one will be a true freshman. Our RB room is very strong, moreso than in a few years, and back to LSU norms.

Only three scholarship running backs on team - anyone know if they are looking to add?
Posted by paper tiger on 5/16/24 at 9:18 am
To my understanding, with Holly suspended, LSU has only senior Josh Williams, sophomore Kaleb Jackson and freshman Caden Durham as scholarship running backs on their roster now. Am I missing one? How is this not a huge position of need in the portal? Running backs, particularly those who don’t ...
re: LSU baseball might, maybe, somehow get in playoffs with an 8-3 finish?
Well he also called it playoffs instead of regional. Big retard red flag he put up.
A regional is a playoff. Four teams play, three are eliminated.
But for argument’s sake, let’s say is regional is by some technicality is not a type of playoff. That fact somehow gives you re...
