while I agree with the need to develop, I'm not sure if Jay can wait any longer on Kling to take the next step
I agree, but not the point. It would be one thing if Kling was the only guy that couldn’t figure things out, but it was nearly everyone. Not sure if it was a lack of marin...
We need players to develop, which is just as important. Jones is arguably the only returning hitter that got better from last year. Kling and Neal are top draft prospects who are late game subs, Travinski will hit a HR in a blowout then disappear for a week, Pearson is still a .240 hitter. Hard ...
There was a thread about a week ago on changeups. Not a whole lot of pitchers have a good feel for getting the movement on the pitch and if it doesn’t move, it’s a meatball. You also really have to be able to command it low or again, it’s a meatball....
Well, he was sitting slider because they threw that the first two pitches and were not going to go fastball after the last HR. Ironically, a fastball might have had a better chance than the slider to get him out. He was definitely sitting slider on that pitch ...
I could be wrong, but he just doesn’t seem nearly as athletic as he looks. Doesn’t cover that much ground in the OF, doesn’t show any speed on the basepaths, average arm. I think it would make a lot of sense for him to really try to bulk up this offseason and tap into some power. For him to take...
It was a slider that he was supposed to throw out of the zone. He missed his spot....

The hitters behind him are pretty good too…. He missed his spot both times. Have to throw a better pitch ...
If Arrambide makes it to campus, your wish will be answered.
His defensive ability is actually one of his worst tools. He’s a Jones/Travinski type catching prospect....
Whether or not you agree with the statement, you don’t know what that phrase means?
People are asking for clarification because they are trying to gauge how retarded OP is. I’m not sure the exact history, but he would be one of the first players to get drafted and go straight to th...

Everyone sees it, but no way Bingham should be out there. He doesn’t even utilize his athleticism in the outfield or basepaths. He does nothing well...
But there just arent great options to hit 4th
Milam has literally been our best hitter for a month. If anything, moving him up could possibly get him 1 extra opportunity to hit. I get not messing with the 1-2-3 spots since that has been working, but to say their is no better option...
But common sense will yield to superstition, as it always does in baseball, until their backs are against the wall.
You are spot on. Not sure what Pearson’s RISP is now, but it was below .180 not that long ago. He’s had some clutch moments, but he’s had plenty of forgettable moment...
Hot behind in the count and was just worried about getting it over the plate. Can’t believe the coach didn’t pull him after the walk and 2 weak hits. He clearly wasn’t missing bats....
Doubtful. Not sure we even keep the pick. However, at 21, I would be perfectly fine if he were there. Filipkowski or Ware would be fine as well.
I like both, especially Ware, but I don’t think either will be there when we pick. Interested to see if they schedule those guys for w...
Pretty sure he really struggled pitching in the fall. Couldn’t throw a strike and got hit a bunch. His scouting report out of Hs was that he didn’t have overpowering stuff, but was very polished. Seems like his floor and ceiling is higher in the field than the mound. ...

re: New MLB Top 200 Draft List

The fact that there is several fewer levels of minor league baseball right now is a big factor. Virtually none of these HS players are ready for single A baseball. You also still have effects from the 5 round draft a few years ago. A lot of players that would have went pro went to college, and it be...
Hasn’t Courville been committed to A&M since he was a freshman? Wonder what connections he has there....
Brown I would say is more athletic than Larson.
Brown definitely looks more athletic, and I believe Jay said he’s one of the fastest players on the team. Frey probably profiles most like a 1B if jones leaves. Frey didn’t look very good in limited OF opportunities. ...

re: Did Cam Johnson pitch in Hoover?

For people who watched all of his innings, where did his fastball sit? Last outing I seen he was consistently running around 92 then ran a few into the mid 90’s. Is he throwing a cutter at 92 or is he just trying to take some off to get it over the plate?. ...
