Ace Midnight
Thanks, it's been a journey for sure. Several failures at the beginning. Biggest mistake was trying to make too many changes at once. Figured out (for me) the best way was to take it one step at a time. Get one new positive habbit ingrained in my daily life, then s...
how do you know when to increase you max? Meaning, when I started and my bench max was 130 for example, when do I raise that max to 150
Typically you increase the training max each month. 5# for upper (Bench) and 10# for lower (Squat/Deadlift)....

Hypertrophy W3D4 Drained today after this workout. Gym was extra spicy this morning after the power outages yesterday evening; no fans, no music, no TV, no AC. Just weights clinking, heavy breathing, and people mumbling to themselves. Squats and chin-ups today were almost an echo of Tuesday....

Hypertrophy W3D2 Knocked this one out Tuesday. Day 2 on this plan should just be called squats... Knocked out all the squats with pretty decent form. It's been a while, but I had to make myself start the last couple sets. Once I started them, it was fine. I finished all the sets and reps. F...
All the better if you do, but I know probably a dozen who have done nothing but take the shot, be conscientious of their intake (stop eating when they begin feeling full), and have lost a lot of weight. I’d say 20% weight reduction (40-50#).
The problem with this method is the mass...

I'm not proud of it, but 2.5 years ago I was at 41.3. Today I'm at 30.8. I'm 5# from officially no longer qualifying as obese. I personally don't think I'll ever fall into the 'normal' category....
280/210.3/190
280/207.8/190 This past week was rough diet wise. I stayed in check averaging 2292 cal and 201 protein. It took effort, will, and protein shakes to make sure I hit the protein goal without blowing thru the calories....

Jose - I think you were correct with the hip flexors. I took it easy over the weekend. Stuck to the normal day to day activities. It's feeling better and surprisingly no pain on deadlifts (even at a rep/weight PR). Hypertrophy W3D1 I've said it before, but this plan is probably the hardest ...
What kind of pain was it?
Kind of hard to describe. It's in the center, on the front on my right thigh, roughly upper 1/3rd of the muscle. When I put my right leg back (roughly 2 ft) I feel it tighten up a good bit. Then going down to a lunge position I can get most of the way...
just find alternative that doesnt hurt. i would consider that still finishing the plan
That's the goal. I'm just nervous about deadlifts and squats aggravating it more. The plan has 1 to 2 of the following every day; back squat, front squat, deadlifts, snatch deadlifts, and rev...

Hypertrophy W2D3 I can finally see some significant progress being made. I'm noticing it on the auxiliary lifts but still happy to see the gains being made. Today was decent. Bench was OK (not great; not bad). The snatch deadlifts felt great and are my favorite variation of deadlift due to mo...

Hypertrophy W2D2 Knocked this one out yesterday morning. All in all it went ok. Squats were decent. I hit all reps on both front and back squats. The last set of each could've definitely been better, but I got them done. I did all of the chin-ups unassisted which is a major milestone for me...
ftr the reverse lunge hits the posterior chain and the stability of the position a lot more than the other variations. He is prolyl trying to hit more hamstrings and glutes when he programs those, so be leery of changing them.
Thanks for the info. I should've been more clear. I s...
280/216.9/190
280/210.3/190 I decided to post a little less frequently in here so I haven't posted since before Easter. As expected my weight bounced back up as I was pretty dehydrated last post as well as it being Easter weekend. I had bounced back up to 222 on 4/3. I don't ...

Hypertrophy W2D1 Other than cutting the grass, I took the weekend off completely from working out. The inside of my quads are extremely tender from last week. I was nervous about the deadlift portion today because of this. As it turns out, it should've been bench and OHP that I was worried a...
