What kind of hunting are you doing?
Do you plan to shoot something greater than 40 yards?

re: Oil change prices
Posted by Success on 5/8/24 at 6:50 pm
I started paying $150 for 7 qt synthetic plus tire rotation. Now I change it myself. It’s about $50 for top tier synthetic plus filter from Walmart or Amazon. Both deliver to my house. Takes 20 mins. I bring the oil 2x a year to Reilly to dump. ...

I use a wireless electric fence. Works great. Bring it on trips and set the distance. The dogs know the beep means they are about to get shocked. And learn quickly not to go past it. ...

re: Turkey roosting
Posted by Success on 4/10/24 at 4:56 pm
Last year I was working a bird and stuck in a spot. Then another Tom flew up in a tree 55 yards from me. Directly across from me. He basically trapped me in this spot as the original turkey left. I had a 20ga that day and attempted to shoot him off the limb after an hour. Wasn’t successful. ...
re: School Me on Surface Drives
Posted by Success on 3/23/24 at 8:37 am
I have a prodrive with manual reverse I never use. If this was a fishing rig more than a hunting rig, I’d want the auto reverse. Otherwise I don’t use a reverse in shallow mud soup. I will say I’ve surprised myself many times with my surface drive in the places I’ve gotten in to and out of. ...

re: Do not even think of fricking with a SPYPOINT camera
Posted by Success on 3/20/24 at 8:18 pm
I know they are hated on here but we run 16 micros 4-5 months a year. And 4-5 8 months a year. They take pics, send them to us, and we know what deer and turkeys we got. Some cameras are 5-6 years old. We update the firmware every October then put them out. Run alkaline batteries in them. This year ...

re: Experience with the "Decked" truck bed storage system?

It takes up too much hauling space and limits the bed. I really feel like you need a camper top to make the best use of the decked system. ...
