Supposedly off the shelf where? And where will they be on the shelf in 15 years? A well taken care of tractor should last the rest of an adult’s life. ...
Does any of that equipment run more than a million dollars new? Cane farming definitely isn’t small stakes, lol.
Wow. That’s incredible. Got some YouTubing to do tonight!...

Yeah. I’d gotten the impression that these IHs did better no tilling without any additional mods, accessories. And I found a good deal. I suspect a well used bone stock 7000 would probably do close to just as good. Don’t they have the double offset openers like the IH? With the little searching I di...

re: Anyone retire early early?

From the math I’ve done, dual income with both high earning W-2 employees still makes it possible. Think fields like higher paying engineering, CPAs, medical professionals. Still it takes very intentional saving and some blind faith especially early on. I do think it’s getting tougher, mostly becaus...

I don’t think I can adjust the pitch. I’m fairly certain (didn’t use it this spring) that there are spots where the closing disks are barely (or barely not at all) making contact with the ground. Probably doesn’t help that I’ve tried to be planting pretty shallow (milo, peas, buckwheat, sunflowers)....

It seems like it. I get good contact from the press wheel which is behind the closing wheels. Probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to monkey with that a little, though. Thanks. ...

Any IH 800 planter experts on the OB?

I have an old planter that I’m trying to troubleshoot and can’t really find much info searching the web. Any recs?
I use the planter in a no-till fashion. It cuts the soil and deposits seeds perfectly, with good depth control. But the closing wheels don’t seem to be doing anything. The trench sta...

An AR style safety (or Sig Cross, Q Fix) would definitely be MORE accessible. It’s right by your thumb that wraps around the lower receiver. Appreciably so? I don’t know. I’d like to handle one myself.
I saw a turkey hunting video where a guy spooked a turkey taking his hand off his aftermarket p...
