I'm an 8 currently and shot 92 on day 1 & 90 on day 2. On day 3 we play the golds and played a 2-man scramble game with the entire group. Each day I started well but the back nine was tough and I believe mostly because of the heat. If you play maroon out there you'll have some long 2nd shots (175-20...
re: Orange Beach/Perdido golf

I play Perdido Bay pretty regularly because it's 5 min from our place down there. It's a great course for the money. It won't beat your arse like Kiva can do some days. It's also great place for practice. Buy a bucket of range balls and you can hit balls on the range, chip on their practice chipping ...
Man, from Lajitas to the beach? Tough life you live for sure.
Yeah it's been a tough couple of weeks for me!
There are 2-3 water stations on the course where they keep water in ice chest you can grab to refill your cart. But make sure you fill your ice chest with ice at t...

I was hoping to post it all tomorrow from my computer, hate typing in this phone. I went straight to the beach from the trip so I’m just getting settled back in.
The course was awesome! Great condition and unbelievably scenic! I’ll try to post my pics tomorrow when I can. It was pretty dang toug...
re: To those of you that have a workshop/shed....what would you do differently?
Posted by WilsonPickett on 5/23/24 at 9:56 pm
Mine is 50x60 and it’s plenty enough shed. Eaves are 14’, red iron building fully insulated. 20x20 of it is a full kitchen, bath & storage room with central AC in there. Building is not climate controlled but I am adding gas heat this season because winters can suck.
It has full plumbing (incl g...

We’re taking the chartered flight from Dallas Love Field. We leave Dallas at 9am and land at Lajitas at 10:30am, no 10 hr drive for us. We’re playing it 3 days in row. High temps 106-108 all 3 days! ??
I’ll report back when I’m back home. ...

Tiger Pointe is good course. Play there 4/5x’s a year. Got a tee time there for Friday May 24th. Also play Perdido Bay a bit. It was struggling after Sally but it’s coming along and they seem to be sinking some money into it lately. But it’s still about an hour from where you’re staying. Craft Farms...
re: First baseman had wrong foot on the bag restricting his ability to stretch for the throw
Posted by WilsonPickett on 5/11/24 at 8:34 pm
The right handed first baseman should have had his right foot on the bag which would have allowed for him to stretch further and possibly catch the ball. That is a basic fundamental but I see this improper footwork frequently by today's players. I would like to see a a clear video of the play...

I’ve rented a slip out there for many weekends over the 10 yrs or so I had a place on the island. Never had anything stolen but I never left my poles on the boat overnight. Did leave my landing net many nights and it never disappeared. Only ever locked one compartment and it held my minn kota remo...
Why not just rent a 3/4-ton or 1-ton when you need to tow it?
Yeah this was my thought also. The boat will live on a lift in Pensacola all the time. The only exception is that I have to pull it off the lift if a tropical storm/hurricane is within so many miles of the marina. It'll ...
Towing a boat with 1/2 ton truck.

I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado High Country 1/2 ton w/ 6.2L V8 gas engine w/ air bags. The boat I'm looking at is 4900lbs dry w/o engines. Twin 200's at 525 lbs each. Fuel weight would be about 800lbs with a full tank. I'd assume loaded with gear would at up to 1000lbs.
Boat/Engines 6000 lbs

Fiberglass, yes they had some imperfections in the fiberglass. Nothing structural, just sloppy work.
I stand on the front deck section when I fish it. Plenty of room for me to cast and fish specs and reds. I moved the trolling motor plug into the anchor well because that wire was running across ...

I own one. It's a 2022 231 Hybrid with the Fiberglass T-Top. Has a 250SHO on it and it performs great with that engine. Not sure I'd get a 200 on one.
I had to get some fibeglass work done after delivery but Dear's Fiberglass did a great job. I didn't want it when we bought it because I wanted a ...

Man if u have Facebook keep an eye out on Marketplace. I’ve bought some great stuff at great prices. So many dudes go into wood working during Covid and just never used the stuff enough. Bought a Harvey table saw and it’s been awesome. I bought a 3hp Grizzly dust collector that the guy had assembled...
re: Minimum wage battle is going to destroy small businesses!
Posted by WilsonPickett on 4/2/24 at 4:39 pm
I own a small business in Louisiana. 24 full time employees and 2-4 part timers depending on the time of the year. I 100% agree that no full time employee should be making less than $15/hr. None of my full time people make less than $20/hr and most everyone is $25/hr +. To be honest it’s killing the...
