re: Jaguars, city of Jacksonville agree to $1.4 billion stadium deal
Posted by BlueWaffleHouse on 5/14/24 at 11:45 pm
Agreed. Around $725m for a 30 year investment that generates a lot of local ancillary revenue is a decent deal for the city. If they can get another Super Bowl out of it, that would help too...
The issue is that already have a snow related team name in the Avalanche.
I think they’re two different enough events (storm vs an act of falling) but both relevant to their specific geo locations. How many similar cat, bird or fish named teams do we have in pro sports?...

Blizzard seems like the no brainer amongst the group. Team & crowd wearing all whites @ home, etc…
Other snow/ski terms you could make a cool logo out of would’ve been: Piste & Moguls.
Does hockey have “cheer leaders” ? Got a built in name of the snow bunnies just waiting to be used. ...

Maybe there’s a plot point where Tatum’s character is intentionally looking for mid to dog ugly looking broads, but the main two girls they showed just look like they don’t belong amongst the rest of the cast. Zoe Kravitz should’ve just put herself as the lead while directing instead of the diversit...
It always interesting to me, especially in Olympic sports, how one person can be this much more dominant than everyone else.
For alot of the Olympic type sports, I think it’s a combo of a generally small talent pool of people who actually have access & financial ability to do the...
re: Coming to CFB: helmet communication and a 2 minute warning per Delly

Until the home team is losing and magically there is technical difficulties with the head sets. (*I believe the rule is if one team is having coms issues, neither team can use them?) ...

While the teams at the top of the big 10 are more formidable in the trenches than anything they faced prior, the mid level to bottom dweller teams are just as crappy as the Pac12 teams were, they just may have fatter linemen...

re: Apparently private equity is buying up small hospitals in LA

Size wise, Glennwood isn’t exactly small, but the I-20 healthcare market outside of Shreveport has been struggling for a while.
Pretty much all the small hospitals up the western part of LA have been dumped by the big corporate “brands” and are owned by shady for profit entities.
Look up Al...
