The Atlanta Falcons shocked the world on Thursday night, selecting Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick. After the pick was announced, ESPN's cameras showed Falcons owner Arthur Blank having a conversation with general manager Terry Fontenot where it looks like he asked WTF just happened...

No way owner of the team didn't know exactly who they were picking.

I completely agree. He is literally sitting next to these guys when they turned in the pick and they didn't tell Arthur?? doubtful. and also, he always has that dumb look on his face so this video tells me nothing.

I think he was explaining how he's going to sneak out of the building through the back door

Why is Blank dressed like a bellhop?

Back to the days of Rankin Smith and his clueless son the Falcon's have been perhaps the worst run franchise for the longest. Thought was Blank could change that but apparently that is not the case.

I don't get that from watching the video. Looks more like he was getting directions to the newest Home Depot. If Blank didn't know who the Falcons were gonna take that's his own fault. They didn't have but that one pick and people gonna say he didn't know who it was?

He was relaying the "WTF" text he had just received from Kirk Cousins....

Funny looking at all these teams and their bloated draft staff, and the Falcons still manage to bungle their pick. Now what kind of salaries are these clerks making? Worthless like Goodell.

One day we the fans will accept that people are people. Stop the DEI nonsense. He’s there because he earned the opportunity

Glad Daniels did not go to Atlanta...... Saint fans should be happy too.

I don't think taking a QB was a bad idea but now you have 2 injury prone guys under center. That's scary if you're a Falcons fan

That’s everyone’s resume? Trading up for 1st round busts is what everyone does? Re-read his post. Your reply is absurd.

I don't think it's a "horrific pick" but it is a but questionable. Cousins is 36 and coming off a major injury. If he goes down early this season, gonna look like a brilliant move. The draft is such a crapshoot even in round 1, no one truly knows until we all reflect 5 years later.

Round 1 are always locks. Well the first 2 picks are anyway. Everyone of those guys were gold. Tony Mandrich. Jamarcus Russell. Ryan Leaf. I could go on but just threw these HOF players out for example.

I know right, Kurt Cousin is always hurt. He didn’t play a whole season last year. And he’s too old. I agree, Cousin was a bad pick. Thank God the Falcon drafted Michael Penix, Jr. He’s stronger, younger, and accurate. Drop dimes that why the Falcons is dropping dollars. Out with old & in with the young.
