I could give up either without much trouble

I go weeks without drinking and not a problem


I never snack late at night

i wouldn't say i'm fat at all. i lift and carry decent muscle mass but the scale never seems to go backwards... I'd like to lose about 10-12 lbs. That's about it.

did both, Different times and both were hard. I stopped Drinking first and can say that not drinking was much harder than not snacking . After 2.5 years of not having a drop I still want booze. After 1.5 of changing my diet I really don't crave snacks especially at night. These two things plus exercise I am down 100 pounds and 12 inches in my waist line. Much healthier now and makes it easier to make good choices and ignore the cravings for both.

I've never had a problem with late night snacking. It's pretty rare that I eat anything later than 6-6:30pm

the main thing is to stop doing the things that trigger the cravings, or if you can't stop the trigger, fight through it for a week and it should get easier

I do a dry month every few months when I feel I need to drop a few vanity lbs and the hardest part is always cooking because I have a habit of sipping on something, either wine or beer, while I cook, and it becomes just a habit.

It takes a few days to break of that craving.

My problem is I'm not even off work until 8-9 most nights so pretty much everything I eat is late-night snacking.

For me personally I suppose it would be drinking, but that's because I don't snack at all. My parents were strict about us snacking as kids, and it stuck with me into adulthood.

I'm off at 4pm most days so we eat pretty early. I eat my meals like an 80 yr old, lunch at 11am, dinner at 5:30

I can push lunch until around 12:30 (I don't eat anything prior to lunch, which I find helps with hunger.. breakfast makes me starving for lunch), but we eat dinner at 5:30ish as well.

Like you said, I don't eat anything past that. Just a two meals a day kind of gal. I'm short, so there isn't much wiggle room for more.

At my previous job my department had to take lunch in shifts because there always had to be someone in the office. So some of us went to lunch at 11, others at 12 and a few at 1pm. I think over the decade I worked there I just trained my body to eat lunch at 11. My stomach starts growling at 10:45 like clockwork

We are the same way. Our kids, 7 and 9, go to bed at 7:30pm so we have to eat a little earlier. Now it's just habit.
