I appreciate the answer. Makes sense. I figured all private school waived tuition.

Jay Miller is a snake in the grass. Didn't they get caught for a coaching violation a while back?

I had a half scholarship to All Saints Episcopal in Vicksburg that was partially academic, and partially because of economic need. I had taken Algebra there in summer school after making a D in it as a freshman at Kosciusko, MS. Did well enough for them to offer the half scholarship.

I didn't take it because they didn't play football, track, or any regular sports. They just had intramural sports.

My dad got a promotion, and my parents moved to Farmerville while I was at All Saints. I ended up at Farmerville instead instead of All Saints, or Kosciusko, and got a pretty worthless education. Wish we had stayed in Kosciusko. I didn't know how dumb I was until I got to LSU.

I Lca keeps there tuition at the La ace scholarship level so they have no out of pocket expenses, plus not to mention rumored other shady dealings, as for Teurlings and stm they have to answer to the the diocese about certain fees and tuition so they can’t compete with what Lca offers. But Lca does lack in education compared to those 2 schools

To my knowledge and from what I’ve been told through the years is STM and TCH have “sponsor” families and they don’t go through the school. Whereas LCA just gets tuition waivers for anyone they want

No such thing really. Some schools will give financial aid of some sort to needy families. Doesn't necessarily have to be athletes but it usually goes through the school & church parish that "owns" the school. I think STM has a "work-study" deal but not scholarships.

I can’t speak to stm,
But I do know Teurlings offers the ace scholarship program just like Lca but you as a parent must make up the difference at Teurlings.
Teurlings also has a work study that gets you like 750$-1000$ off the tuition. But you cannot be on both
Stm does offer the same ace scholarships but I don’t know what they do with the rest of the balance or if they have other programs. They may be the Sam as tch I am just not 100% sure what they do with the balance

I attended two LCA games out of interest this season. There is no way the average LCA family could support a tuition or donation level that would allow for some students to have "waivers". It has to be coming from their church.

Lca keeps their tuition at the ace scholarship level. But it is does seem they are in involved in alot of recruitment as far as finding houses in there area to get kids eligible, plus they pastor is not welcome at several Lafayette school unless it’s and official game

I like Pastor Jay.

I enjoy covering games at LCA, Teurlings and STM. All three are first class when it comes to media.

STM does the same thing. The kids have to go work a certain number of days during the summer painting rooms, cleaning lockers, etc. but it has nothing to do with athletics. My kid did it when he was there along with many other students who didn’t play ball.
