Stones Beast of Burden

I wouldn't put that on a list of top 50 Stones songs.

Freebird live Oakland Colesium 1977.
It was Stairway to Heaven then I saw this version of Freebird. They just flat out crush it.

I've seen "God Only Knows" and "The Weight" thrown out...and I can't argue.

Check out the "Strong Songs" podcast, specifically on God Only Knows. That song has next-level construction. And The Band...I could swap out Cripple Creek and The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down... a perfect trifecta of bangers.

More contemporary songs for your consideration:

Sweet Child o Mine - the best rock song from the best rock band in the 80s. And it's Slash that puts it over the top.
I'm all your'n - Tyler Childers - he made a stink with his last video...but this song is P-E-R-F-E-C-T.
Tom Petty Wildflowers - So much going on in this song. Maybe his best, and he had a career full of bangers. It's the piano parts that put this over the top.

One of my best friends lost his sister tragically in a car wreck when she was 16. She was everything you could want in a daughter and sister. Smart, witty, caring, beautiful. Their dad plays this song for her on her birthday every year.

Somehow Tom Petty is ubiquitous and underrated all at the same time.

See my Friends by the Kinks 1965. Great song from the mid-sixties minus all of the extended guitar and drum solos that would start creeping in the late sixties and seventies.

I agree, but "Stairway To Heaven" is not one of them.
