I like the smoked trout from Trader Joe’s. That’s also in a can.

Oh contrare, I beg to differ. But like regular oysters, it is an acquired taste kinda thing.

People eat that out of the bag? I’ve used them to make a shrimp stock. They even sell them ground up now.

I think that's the purpose, I have used for the same. Sometimes I do eat them out of the bag, salty, slightly chewy. Shrimp jerky basically.

Every once in a while I will grab a pack of those dried shrimp by the register at the grocery store...

I still love dried shrimp. The wife and I rode over to Westwego to pick up 25 lbs. of fresh shrimp since the season opened 2 days ago.

I asked the lady in the booth if she ever dried shrimp and she said she did for a while and sold them at her booth but it was kind of labor intensive and then you figure in the weight loss as the shrimp dried out and lots of people balked at the cost.

Plain Doritos with cheddar, then salsa, then sardines, pop under a broiler until the cheese bubbles.

I guess sardines and smoked oysters. Like them both on occasion.
