Talk to me when you've lost your mom, brother, a first cousin, and a close friend suddenly in the last year and a half plus two sisters with the last 7.

Life goes on and you carry on but it still weighs you down at times. You should not be dismissive of people because you process differently. Also, don't think because you just rolled on when it happened that you won't suddenly feel like someone dropped a ton of bricks on you in about a year or so.

I'm a carry-on type but trust me on this, I know of what I speak.

I don't understand it either because it's largely chemical and I've never had a chemical imbalance. Doesn't mean that I can't empathize with those who do though.

“Real” depression is a chemical and psychological thing that changes you. It’s a real problem that you cannot just turn off by not thinking about it.

Being depressed about something isn’t the same as “depression”.

Let me guess

You’re not married
Don’t have kids
Don’t own your house
Don’t own a business
Your parents still pay your bills

Man once you are in your late 20s you have to come with the reality of your situation. Your family situation, etc and move on. Everyone has some type of issues, don't let it hold you down.. Move on and make your own path.

Agree. Write them off and move on.

A lot of it involves poor diet, no exercise, and poor sleep habits.

Define real trauma. Loss of a parent? Spouse? Child? Near death experience? Traumatic injury? I've lost most of my family to the big C. I've nearly been killed half a dozen times because of accidents. Have accident PTSD because people decided pulling out in front of me when I'm at hwy speeds is a great idea. These days the pulse just spikes and the adrenaline makes me leave a hand print in the wheel. Injuries happen. Even permanent ones. I still feel no need to let it determine my life.
Depression is independent of any of these examples. Some folks eat a bullet, some grind themselves down over decades. But the only cure is death, although management is an option I suppose. It’s real and suicide is not “being selfish” as a younger me once thought. I’ve been educated on the subject within the last few years.

So you are dumb enough to believe that people a few hundred years ago didn't deal with depression?

Smart enough to know privileged fricks in this grand country are pathetic for feeling sorry for themselves. Pick your shite up and enjoy life. Good times create soft men. It’s a saying for a reason

Yep. They are enabling mental illness with the tranny stuff

I’m in the mental health industry, but I agree with that statement - and I attribute that mostly to social workers. They are “the wokest of the woke”.

Eh that's not always what it's about. Some people have empathy for other people. Doesn't sound like you're one of them. Which barely makes you human.

matter how rough a situation may be, because of too many responsibilities, tragedy, or loneliness, I don't let anything ruin my day.

People that don't have mental health issues could never understand stand it. Doctor told me I was bi-polar when I was younger. Blew it off thinking he didn't know what he was talking about.

Then I had to reflect on how I acted in stressful situations. Or situations that wasn't a big deal. Thought about when I was a teenager, I would get mad and punch cars, trees just to keep from hitting a person.

Suicidal thoughts all the time. But I have a great support system. Then I would observe other people and how they handled a situation without going over the deep end. Had to admit that I do have a problem.

Problem with taking depression medicine is the side effects suck. They rob you of all emotions. When your bi-polar, your overally happy one moment then mad as hell the next. Or crying for no reason. Went to a family member funeral and felt nothing when on meds. Couldn't grieve.

Hope this gives some insight a little.

It’s a medical condition. If someone has a broken leg, do you not understand that?
