I'm pretty conservative on most matters but on abortion I'm pro-choice. Call me what you will but that's how I feel about it.

quote:That's not much of a worry. It's already moving in that direction. If Republicans can't highlight their "pro-life" stance, and if they are going to be voted out for voting against less restrictive abortion laws, then it's only a matter of time that a representative will have to vote for federal laws codifying RvW or risk not being re-elected.
Because the other side will gain the power to codify roe v wade and it will be far worse than the present state. Your "all or nothing" attitude is very dangerous.
So like I said, they are just delaying the inevitable by refusing to fight against this. If the GOP isn't willing to step up the fight in the culture war against abortion, abortion will be legalized federally in the not too distant future.
What's dangerous is letting the slow decline in the moral fabric of our nation happen by pretending it doesn't matter or it's not worth votes.

quote:By voting for men and women who go silent on the issue, or outright go with the progressives on the issue because they don't want to deal with it, I would be violating my Christian principles. I cannot support those who refuse to at least make their stance known and vote accordingly. It's cowardice to say nothing and it's immoral to vote for less restrictions on abortion.
How are you betraying your principles?
quote:Other than the spiritual and emotional damage it takes on the nation that I live in, it doesn't effect me.
How has abortion ever affected you in your life?
Why do you think an issue must personally effect me in some way for it to be important? There were people fighting against slavery that actually benefited from its existence. Objective morality isn't based on pragmatism.

Two weeks ago the House passed HB 813 to abolish abortion in the state of Louisiana.
Weird, here I am thinking it was already banned in Louisiana.

Regardless of how you personally feel about it, the American public has expressed that they feel differently on abortion.
Abortion should be a referendum next election in every state
Every voter would have to consciously vote yes or no on legal abortion
Will be quite the conundrum for many

Speaker of the house Mike Johnson. I should’ve said responsible for pushing the hardest to kill the bill

Not much of a conundrum if we look at Ohio most recently. It passed fairly easy.

Thank you for explaining it better than I can. I’m trying though lol

This is a bad stance period. I have a massive disdain for extremism.

So the 2020 election and J6 should be avoided at all costs?

How did Mike Johnson kill a bill in the LA House?

Not all Republicans are Pro-Life.
And if you're trying to push out the Pro Lifers, fine. Have fun losing every election ever.

If you're scared, say you're scared.
Evangelicals should by theory be the most joyful and peaceful people on the planet yet they seem to be some of the most clutching your pearls scaredy cats I've ever seen. You're going to heaven so don't worry about us heathens, you're spoken for.
And why do you hate God's will? He gave mankind the Free Will to make choices and laws but Christians want to make everyone live according to their laws and fears.

Scared?
I'm disgusted that so many people not only tolerate the cultural Marxist debauchery and societal decay, they embrace it.
Are you that guy, El Segundo Guy?

There's a lot of stuff that happens every single day that I don't "like but yet I seem to "tolerate" things quite well.
