nothing has happened other than Air Products drilling 2 stratigraphic test wells to test the viability of potential CO2 injection and storage

My wife traveled to Cameroon 2 days ago. First thing she messaged me was how terrible the air quality is. They have a ton of old shitty taxis pumping out dirty exhaust there. Same like India and China.

Contact ADNOC, they’re using this strategy.

I’ve noticed LLCs buying up farmland for 25% more than market value, and taking some of the best farmland in the area and planting trees on it. Supposedly the government is subsidizing them for it probably for this reason.

I’m currently reading a great sci-fi novel over the holidays and they’re having an issue with the sun dimming due to an energy parasite and to buy time and delay the new ice age while a few astronauts go try to Bruce Willis the situation, scientists back on earth cook off 240 nukes under the ice caps to release a shite ton of green house gases (methane) in order to insulate the earth. They have some old soy climate change expert crying liberal tears over it, great part of the book.

Same here. I could use a little extra $$ coming in each month.

Set up a business and find a company to “lease” it to as a carbon offset.

A couple points about this that someone can clarify more in-depth if they chose:
1 - most of the subsidization for any of this is a tax incentive so you need a business with a tax liability to offset or a transfer agreement with a business.
2 - most exist only in the commercial tax code so you can’t use it for your personal taxes
3 - the legal fees alone to setup and agreement like this are significant enough to set the floor for any deal in the 1000s of acres usually.

I work in the oilfield. Supposedly, govt is giving blank checks to drill these wells. Free money to drill them. Oil companies know it's bs with these wells but will drill them for the free money

There actually is an avenue for that. I believe Martin Timberland (Roy O Martin) from the CENLA region has some of its timber acreage enrolled in some sort of CO2 capture program.

You can do for almost any crop. There’s a program for rice. That’s why it was so assinine when they claimed growing rice increases greenhouse gases.

Air Products honestly should have probably replaced their entire Community Relations staff considering how that whole thing transpired. Someone didn't do their homework to assess the need for proactive communication and education.

Hell...they probably should have even paid someone to post on this board.

Want to talk about scams….most of those programs want to control your land using the avenue of carbon emissions. There is a lot of ambiguity in some of the programs as to what is actually contractually allowed by the landowner to the order of ridiculous. Some wouldn’t allow the land to be enrolled in any other land programs, even if those programs are geared toward better land stewardship.

My only hope is that they don’t prey on older farmers selling them nonsense then come back with a cease and desist order on farming activities.

Someone tell me how man injecting co2 into the soil is good for nature? What are the long term consequences of this?

You can get carbon payments for keeping your land full of trees and not cutting it. NCX.com for example will pay landowners with property full of trees
