Our history continues to be erased.

quote:

PHILADELPHIA — The National Park Service proposes to rehabilitate Welcome Park to provide a more welcoming, accurate, and inclusive experience for visitors. Welcome Park was designed by the internationally acclaimed design firm Venturi & Scott Brown Associates. The park is located on the site of William Penn's home,

quote:

The proposed rehabilitation of Welcome Park includes expanded interpretation of the Native American history of Philadelphia and was developed in consultation with representatives of the indigenous nations of the Haudenosaunee, the Delaware Nation, Delaware Tribe of Indians, the Shawnee Tribe, and the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. The reimagined Welcome Park maintains certain aspects of the original design such as the street grid, the rivers and the east wall while adding a new planted buffer on three sides, and a ceremonial gathering space with circular benches. The Penn statue and Slate Roof house model will be removed and not reinstalled. In a separate and future effort, new exhibit panels will be installed on the south site wall to replace the Penn timeline.

Those who erase history are doomed to repeat it.

That is so stupid. First, it's tiny.

Second, there are are no telling how many other statues of the man are around Philly. Good luck getting this one down.

Time to rename the state.

Transylvania will probably be celebrated now. Progressive and inclusive of those marginalized few who identify as vampires.

Quakers are seen as privileged based on their skin color. Not that the left judges people on the color of their skin.

But Quakers were the original abolitionists...

This don't make no kind of sense.

All part of the plan.
Erase history, give no one a sense of pride, destroy all good deeds done, emphasize and reword anything else that was done.
Destroy the country in favor of a new world order

It does when you realize that whites (ESPECIALLY WHITE MEN) are always wrong these days.

Period.

Full stop.

No big deal. It's not like the man founded the state the monument resides in or anything.

Jordan Peterson said it best

"Tyranny doesn't happen all at once, it's one tiny step at a time"

Don't think that erasing all history of good by European Americans is a mistake.

Fortunately we will be getting rid of the Biden experiment sooner than later. Can’t wait to get rid of that clown

If the President were a sentient son of Pennsylvania, he wouldn't be pressing this issue.

This is so much more than a Biden issue. This has been going on for decades, at this points it’s closer to a century, where progressive minded people and groups have sought to redefine words, redefine historical figures, and reshape this world into a single, borderless mass.

This has been allowed to evolve to the state we currently see because moderates and left wingers have used the argument “It doesn’t affect you, why do you care?” Or “It’s just one statue of a confederate, why is he important to you?” on everyone. When people bring up the slippery slope they yell “That’s a fallacy!”

There is a reason why the saying “if you give an inch, they will take a mile” is very old; it’s true.

We are repeating it, but the scenario is reversed.

In spite of what they may claim, people who tear down statues don't have a good human rights history.
