This outcome has led us to accelerate our plans for the season. As a result, we've prepared our boats and will begin our trapping efforts starting tomorrow.

Translation-We tryna get in da game and catch errythang we can while da price at an all time high.

Not sure where they're located and I hope the drought wasn't as severe for them, but don't be surprised if their catch drops off after their first couple of runs.

Same here. I don’t get the obsession people have. Yes, I want it annually but I’m not obsessing over it. If I go a year without it, so be it.

I can also stomach paying $12 a pound like 1-2 times for myself at happy hour just to check the box but won’t be seeing me throw any parties or grabbing it weekly at that price

If my immediate family and the grandparents go out to a chain restaurant for dinner it’s going to be 125-150$.

3.00 a lb for a sack, sides and seasonings gets me about that. That’s about as much as I can justify.

Any more than that and I’m grilling ribeyes.

You can always go buy a few acres of land, do the dirt work to build ponds, buy the pumps and irrigation equipment (don't forget the water rights), buy the "seed" crawfish, buy the supplemental feed, and buy the boats and traps to harvest the crawfish if you think you can harvest your own crawfish at a lower price.

and I left out the fuel/energy costs to run the pumps and boats.

At $12-15/lb. it’s very easy to hold out.

Very easy to hold out at a third of those prices.

Ain't nobody got time fo dat. They too busy bleeding out on their kotex pads instead and going catch their own in their sewage ditch.

And people wonder why Texas gets all the crawfish they want. When Louisiana has the mindset of frick the farmers, frick the restaurants, Texas welcomes the crawfish with open arms.

Some years we come close and people bitch with their mouthes full.

I’d love to see half of the posters who complain spend a day .. a half day even .. during harvest season.
