this is the year the tight ends involvement will take a jump without a real superstar WR

I think Nuss is the QB who will rely on that TE as a safety net vs Daniels was taking off.

I say that not as a knock on either QB. You just saw how many times Taylor was targeted in the bowl game.

some teams run 11 regardless of depth. It’s just a very versatile grouping especially when you go HUNH.

Yeah that’s kind of where I’m at.. I don’t expect to see a ton of 12 because of the need to substitute. It’s a lot easier to sub within the same personnel package as you can make the substitutions whenever the opportunity presents itself. If you’re switching between 11 and 12, you get into situations where you either have to stay in 12 personnel or substitute (and therefore give the defense a chance to substitute as well).

I think it also makes things more complicated if you are preparing to run tempo in both packages. Not impossible by any means, but I feel like there’s a tradeoff any time you add complexity in CFB because of the practice time limitations.

One thing that could make it interesting would be if Pimpton can be effective both down on the LOS and split out wide. That would really open up the playbook in 12 personnel (and put some pressure on defenses).

We have a couple of TE that will be lining up outside. Will be interesting to see how defenses defend.

I’m curious if Green is gonna be ready to go out the gate.

He hasn’t fully matured physically but will be ready. He is an absolute freek. If Zachary would have had just a decent QB this year he could have caught 20 TD’s.

We have Mason Taylor who is 6'4...pimpton 6'6" and trey Dez green 6'7"....all 3 should be heavily involved in the offense

Markway, Mason Taylor, Pimpton, and Trey'dez Green. Ton of talent at TE, and hopefully we can utilize them all.

Cannot wait to see Green catch a jump ball in the end zone.

1+. I was hoping to see that this past season w/ Pimpton.

At TE we have Mason Taylor and a lot of u proven Soph and TFr

at WR we have Lacy, Hilton, and 2 big transfers.

I am really excited about green but put TEs on a spectrum with glorified OTs on one side and Glorified WRs on the other he is probably somewhere on the WR half right now.

TE’s will get more use because we won’t have a QB who can run for 100+ yards every game. I’m not sure how dynamic our TE’s will be in terms of their ability to stretch the field, but they will catch more than last year.

Are we going to pretend all transfer WRs are the same?
