Having just had kidney cancer removed myself, I am thinking that it could be kidney cancer. I only say that because they don't typically confirm kidney cancer until it is removed and pathology determines malignancy. Biopsies are very rarely performed. As it is not a curable cancer once it metastasizes, they remove it and check for malignancy afterward.
