But a more residential and family-oriented area is not so great.

The locals posting on FB were clear that they perceive Seaside, and surrounding communities, as a place for families to vacation together, and connect. Over and over, parents of younger children mentioned how distressed their children were by the teenagers’ behavior. Some of the young children seem to have been bullied by the older kids. Several posters mentioned that there are no places for the teens to gather, and stated that they did not want to build any. The locals have a specific vision for their preferred demographic, and resent property management companies and second homeowners who are trying to subvert that. There is a fear that 30A will lose its reputation as a safe, family-friendly place for multiple generations to gather to create memories.

All they have to do is crack down on that behavior, and make life difficult for them to do what they want to do.
They won't come back.

I think Air BnB owners will probably crack down on it, too. They certainly don't want the reputation going down the drain, either.

My area of South Florida is probably too slow paced to be considered as a destination for that crowd. I have not heard how the Tampa area fared, yet.

These are all very valid points, and when you consider what kind of coin people are spending to buy or even rent a place on 30a, I would be pissed if a bunch of 20yo showed up and wanted to get wild. Hopefully they can take the right steps this year to prevent a recurrence next year.

That said I was 20 once and loved to have a good time. Just take it to the right place. I learned that when I tried to have a raucus good time on Sanibel. Couldn't even find anybody to drink with me in the pool (sir, pool's closed) nor even the parking lot. My parents thought I was a budding alcoholic because I bought a case and sat by myself. I was just looking for some dudes to play cards with or some girls to chat up. NOPE. Head for PCB or something.
