Is it really a "ghost" gun if they know he has them?
Not what makes it a "ghost" gun. It's a lack of serial number
I have been milling my own lowers for a few years and having a gunsmith laser engrave serial numbers and identification marking on them. ATF was fine with that under Trump's administration but it's a different story under Biden. My gunsmith doesn't want 80% lowers in his shop at all. Totally afraid of the ATF.

Reminds me of a bit from the “hat squad” 50s era crime movie “Mulholland Falls.”
LAPD hat squad arrests mobster, says they are taking him to the airport to send him back east.
They drive him up Mulholland Blvd to a peak, say they are at the airport at Mulholland Falls.
It dawns on the guy what is happening and he says “You can’t do this! This is America!”
Head cop says “This ain’t America, Jack. This is LA!” and tosses him off Mulholland.
Same cop later runs afoul of the FBI in an investigation and the FBI harasses the guy through search warrants on his property and other matters.
The cop’s response is to knock out the agent’s two partners, beat the guy up, drag him off federal property, and say the following.
“That’s federal property. This isn’t. This is my town where I can steal your car, frick your wife, and kill your dog. The only thing you can do about it is not be found by me and I’ve already found you.”

Was there already a ruling on the applicability of 2A
Yes. It's called the Constitution, my friend.

There still has to be a ruling within the case

I was being facetious.
That aside, do you suppose this judge read Bruen?

And what exactly does a serial number do?
ETA: My point is that they already can find out who bought the parts and where from. So are any of these really "ghost guns"?

Has SFP been along yet to praise the judge as a “brilliant legal scholar”?

You understand Trump laid the groundwork for AFT and DOJ to push that kind of bullshite, right?
He fricking bragged about it.

No chance. Gun rights groups will jump all over this.
Absolutely. You have a judge openly saying that the 2A doesn’t exist. He will win on appeal and the case will be dropped. It won’t be pushed to the SCOTUS because they don’t want another SCOTUS decision favoring gun rights.

while we all appreciate, and have come to expect, you running cover for this judge, its hard to argue context with a direct quote like:
Everything you said makes sense until the judge says "This is New York".
quote:
‘Do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn’t exist here. So you can’t argue Second Amendment. This is New York.'

It appears that some law schools have gone to pot. Don't they give tests there still?
We have a ration of judges that are proud to be morons and teachers that are sex crazy.

Was there already a ruling on the applicability of 2A or a motion in limine about referencing it? The article does not say b/c it's shitty. I got 5 SFP dollars that the judge's comments reference something along those lines, where a ruling was already made and the "it doesn't exist here" comment meant within the trial context.
Let's assume that's the case. Do you not see a problem with said ruling?

So all he needs to do is make up serial numbers for them, etch them onto the gun, and he should be ok. He could just use his initials followed by the number order in which he made them. DT-001, DT-002......DT-013. Then he would have legally bought parts that made guns WITH serial numbers.
