Pels off-season todo list is to: 1. Acquire a more athletic big that can space vertically or horizontally
2. Acquire a primary ballhandler who is a threat above the arc
With a potential war chest of about $80m in salary (BI, CJ, Nance) and several picks over the next few years, what are your suggestions to pull that off?
A ball handler is easier to get than an athletic big unless we want to trade for Ayton and pay huge money for a guy who isn’t a star in this league. (He is capable of being good but this season with the Blazers pretty much destroyed his rep IMHO. He can be Robin but not Batman.)

Get a big, and they very easily slot into the 5, either starter or backup depending on quality.
The ball handler is much more tricky. Even if the dude is a better point guard and facilitator than CJ, losing CJ's shooting would be too much to overcome IMO. So if a more traditional PG is taking over for CJ, there needs to be a plan in place to not lose any volume shooting. We need to at the very least stand pat on 3pt attempts, we can't go down, that would essentially have us darn near dead last. We don't have efficient enough dudes to overcome that.

Pels don't need an all-star point or post player, just players that fit the scheme better. You want to keep your own picks but everything else should be on the table (Lakers, Bucks picks; salary match of non-core players). Ideally for a Connelly/Gafford type combination. An ideal offseason for me would be:
1. Resign BI and TM3 for a little less than max (40/25)
2. Get CJ's buy-in with a narrower role
3. TM3/Dyson add 10lbs and become your 4s
4. Resign Val at Nance's salary or let Val walk
5. Consolidate the remaining salaries for S&T / FA bid for a solid primary ballhandler (DLo) and athletic big (Isaac)
