Jones and Murphy came from the same draft class. Jones has massively outperformed him (Jones is a finalist for DPOY). They play the same position and role. Murphy is more than likely going to be his back up. But you want to pay Murphy more than double on the hope that he becomes a 20+ppg bench player as the 4th or 5th option? Just because he can be paid that much doesn't mean we have to be the ones to give it to him. He's a good player, possibly a solid starter as a specialist. I just wouldn't give him a big deal and make him a top 3 guy on my squad. Guys like him are valuable, on rookie deals. Not so great when they cash in..

Sometimes I can’t tell if you’re intentionally obtuse about this shite or you just don’t watch/follow other NBA teams and understand the league as a whole.

Multiple people ITT have told you that Herb is not a good salary comparable because his specific contract situation within the CBA fricked him on this contact, yet you keep comparing the two players.

Herb, like Trey, is a 25 million dollar (and more) NBA player in today’s NBA. He is not capped by the CBA in the same way Herb was, so Trey will make an appropriate amount.
