In my area, I’m seeing all kinds of other places pop up (Dutch Bros, 7 brew, Scooters, etc). This has to hurt Starbucks. Coffee shops seem to be going the way of car washes, showing up on every single corner. I’m not a coffee drinker, so not sure about loyalty, but I would think folks driving to work are going to hit the most convenient place. That’s no longer Starbucks

Their spring seasonal drink was terrible. The CEO should have tasted it.

This right here.

Same story here, tons of other coffee places are popping up everywhere. Starbucks was the only true national coffee chain around here until the last few years. However places like scooters and Dutch Bros are scooping up the more convenient places in town. I have noticed the amount of customers they are serving really started trending up.

To be fair though we always had local coffee shops that did well. However they typically got the customers that would never go to Starbucks imo

I believe this most importantly. convenience. Starbucks faces a lot of competition from Scooters, Dutch Bros, Dunkin, Tim Horton's, Peets, Black Rock, Dunn, Human Bean, but SBUX will have the staying power like a McD's in fast food. IMO. A lot of people like to order familiarity.

Starbucks doesn't franchise unlike the others. We'll see if that's a plus or minus long term.
