I mean you could just tank. You don’t have to sign BI to a big deal. They get their own 2025 back in a deep draft. BI technically is an expiring- you could trade him midseason for more assets or let him walk and open up cap space.

BI will 100% be traded as an asset, so why would the Lakers trade for a 1 year rental instead of a younger, more king term crop of dudes?
