The older generations passed on, and replacing them were the spoiled rotten unprincipled masses.

1984 was right in the midst of the American period of being Hell on Earth

The slow but gradual feminizing of males by focusing on feelings over reality.

This also has escalated among females to create the Karen culture where women of that sort believe everything in the world is about them, they are right about everything and that it's okay for them to use violence and throw fits in order to express themselves (but it's the most horrible crime in the world if someone does it to them).

Idealogically both parties ran for the fringes. Reagan would be a RINO according to Trump standards.

The middle needs to take this country back. The party of radical moderates.

The voters realized Reagan's voodoo economics were bad.

Soon thereafter, Carter traveled frequently to other countries to observe their elections. He was "blown away" by the integrity of the Venezuelan elections.

Yep, Carter got beat down and spent the rest of his cognitive years figuring out how to get his "payback." Soon thereafter, Jimmy Carter was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.

Now you know the rest of the story.

You shared an electoral college map. It's easy to forget that even after 4 years of Jimmy Carter 40% of the country STILL didn't want Reagan. They didn't want him in 1980 and they didn't want him in 1984.
