TR models don't have a transmission at all. That direct drive is what makes it so much quieter. The transmission is what usually bricks a washer. Though to that point, the SQ transmission is on another tier from other washers so it's unlikely to fail. That 15 year tranny warranty is parts only year 4-15. Not bad if your willing to work on it yourself. For some reason they dont list the lifetime tub warranty on the TC5 but its listed for every other topload model. I'm sure it includes that.

Mechanical Control Top load Washer TR5 Models (5000 Series)
• Five (5) years parts and labor limited warranty on the complete washer.
• Five (5) years parts and labor on cabinet assembly against rust from the inside out.
• Lifetime limited warranty on the stainless-steel tub and outer tub against rust or corrosion.

Mechanical Timer Top load Washer TC5 Models (5000 Series)
• Three (3) years parts and labor limited warranty on the complete washer.
• Five (5) year limited warranty on cabinet assembly against rust from the inside out. Year 4
through 5 parts only limited warranty.
• Five (5) year limited warranty on the motor. Year 4 through 5 parts only limited warranty.
• Fifteen (15) year limited warranty on the transmission assembly. Year 4 through 15 parts only
limited warranty.

Electronic Display Top load Washer TR7 Models (7000 Series) Rear Control
• Seven (7) years parts and labor on cabinet assembly against rust from the inside out.
• Seven (7) years parts and labor warranty on the rest of the washer.
• Lifetime limited warranty on stainless steel tub and outer tub against rust or corrosion.

No Speed Queen is a direct drive, the motor still works though a belt whether though a transmission or a clutch assembly that is controlled by a control board. Direct drive is when the motor is coupled directly to the transmission with nothing in between except a drive hub.

Given what most techs will tell, the transmission is going to be less likely of a problem than an electronic control board. The TC5 can be serviced as easily as any old-school direct drive, if needed. The transmission is why the TC5 only needs a 1/2hp motor because there is torque and speed multiplication as needed vs relying solely on the power of the motor.
