Can’t stand guitar center and their employees. Played with the pedals for about 30 minutes and the amount of times they tried to push the boss katana on people without giving any explanation was disgusting. They kind of know me now at GC and don’t bother. They figured out I usually know more than they do. They’ll recommend a pedal or something and I’ll just ask if they are crazy, that thing is trash, then I’ll tell them to go check out something they had no idea about.
On the OP, why not just get a Helix LT or Quad Cortex and an FRFR cab to go with it. Then when you want a tube amp in the future (you know you will), you can still integrate the multi into that, just lose the amp/cab sims.
Shop around. There is a guy right now on Talkbass selling a Helix LT for $650. That is a stupid low price.
