Is There Lithium in Your Crawfish?

In a lab at Mississippi College, biology professor Joseph Kazery and his students are studying how different organs in crawfish absorb lithium.
"As aquatic organisms, crawfish can take up large amounts of lithium dissolved in water. Because other creatures — including people — eat crawfish, looking at them allows us to see how lithium moves through the food chain and potentially into us," said Kazery, according to an article from Phys.org.

What a useless article. Basically, just an announcement that a study is being conducted. Then they use a picture of the largest collection of blue crawfish I've ever seen to scare people that lithium is turning crawfish blue??
This statement right here would be a clear huge red flag that a pond or area is overly contaminated.
Also, is a crawfish's life cycle even long enough to accumulate enough lithium to be dangerous to predators, but not itself? Especially in farm raised...but I guess that's what the study is for.

A review on lithium toxicity in plants by ScienceDirect stated that lithium can disrupt metabolic processes like photosynthesis which ultimately can inhibit growth and yield.

Good Grief.
No telling how much "Certified Lithium-Free Crawfish" are gonna cost.

New and improved, anti-depressant crawfish!

At no point does it even venture a guess or a suggestion as to how much lithium , if any, is in a typical crawfish pond.

I live in Clinton and drive past MC every day. That PhD is not in my Sunday School Class, but the sanctuary is very big, and he might be a back row Baptist.
There is a fact you guys can use when you play trivial pursuit at the bar Friday Night.
Here is another one for you. There are no crawfish ponds in Clinton, I have seen them in the ditch that runs through Byrd Heights, but it was over 60 years ago, many years before lithium batteries became a thing.
