They are saying something. The chant will include elements such as the current bid and the next bid he is asking for. Many auctioneers throw in gibberish as part of their chant to keep the rhythm steady. If you know how to listen they make a lot of sense.

Grew up in the car business and I’ve spent many hours at auctions. My uncle went to auctioneer school, and they teach you this technique.
