His actions are obviously not rooted in genuine consideration for the public.

I sure am glad a bunch of small government conservatives are keeping me safe. If I had too much freedom, boy, I don't know what kind of trouble I'd get into

Does a dispensary in Louisiana require a medical card to buy gummies? If so, that puts one in the system. Nope.

No ifs about that...it's going to happen. And Louisiana will be the last state to mobilize, again leaving the citizens behind.

You'll probably make it happen before we (Kentucky) do. They passed medical here but it won't start until 2025 and it's the most limited bill in the country. And they've talked about trying to walk some of it back already in future legislative sessions. Meanwhile, people go to Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Missouri, and even to Michigan to buy without issue.

And for a bunch of politicians that want to desperately popular, it's amazing to me they don't understand that legalization is desired universally across the political spectrum.

Money wins elections. They get the Sheriffs/police and the pharma and alcohol lobbies behind them and they'll be able to buy their re-elections.

ETA:

Dems are pushing the Schedule change nationally as a hail mary. If they were polling better going into election season, they wouldn't touch it. In Louisiana it's going to take a termed out Governor with a majority party support to legalize.

One of my favorite moments of hypocrisy was when Reps were brow beating the business owners for having their processing productions outside of the state. To which they replied that they had to invest millions of dollars in these processing facilities, and investing that kind of money in Louisiana when the legislature has threatened to kill the entire industry every year since it was legalized is flat out irresponsible.

Crickets from the grandstanding Reps.

I am a law enforcement officer, commissioned by the State of Louisiana.

My daughter was able to get off of prescription medication for multiple medical issues by using Delta-8 gummies.

Once I retire--Dec 2024--and leave this Godforsaken shite hole of a state I will do everything I can to get her out too.

This state fricking sucks mainly because of politicians and greed.

That opposition witness who owns the seltzer company in NOLA wiped the floor with them. The combative kid before him that had to read his speech from his phone came off as dumb stoner.

Well, if one has a medical marijuana card to buy it from a dispensary, the person is ineligible for a CHP. That system. So to me that’s another list and form of control.

"Public safety" is a fantastic excuse to protect certain financial backers.

All you have to do is claim public safety and you can get away with almost anything.
