It’s not going to happen. In fact, I won’t be shocked if he returns to the mound this year. Remember, Ohtani didn’t get Tommy John Surgery. He had an internal brace put in his elbow which has a much shorter recovery time than TJS. Rich Hill had the same procedure a few years ago and was able to return in ten months.

I think long term Ohtani is best used as a 6th starter or as a closer
