re: Fury v usyk
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/18/24 at 5:22 pm
I think Usyk is going to win a majority of the rounds and then Fury will KO him in Round 6....

I just saw Tiger's early card for today. Yikes!...
re: Paul Skenes
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/17/24 at 2:32 pm
Sort of weird that the Pirates are playing the Cubs again for the second time in less than a week. Baseball doesn't even have the unbalanced schedule anymore. Also gives a huge advantage to the hitters playing the same teams and seeing the same pitchers over such a short time span although it doesn'...
re: Indiana Fever seem poorly coached. Hard to watch.
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/17/24 at 12:35 pm
Am I the only one who finds it a little crazy that Caitlin Clark is playing for a professional team barely a month after her final college game? Only sport that's comparable is baseball where the professional baseball seasons lasts three months after the end of the College World Series. But a lot of...
re: Amazing Randy Johnson tidbit
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/16/24 at 1:09 pm
Being a late bloomer probably helped a lot with Johnson's longevity. If he was a better pitcher at a younger age, he might have developed arm problems and lacked longevity like Bret Saberhagen did. ...

re: Netflix officially announces they will stream the NFL's Christmas Day games

Only a matter of time before the NFL starts having games on PPV like they do for MMA and boxing. ...
re: Is it time for Ohtani to shelve pitching and forget being a two way player?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/15/24 at 8:57 am
It’s not going to happen. In fact, I won’t be shocked if he returns to the mound this year. Remember, Ohtani didn’t get Tommy John Surgery. He had an internal brace put in his elbow which has a much shorter recovery time than TJS. Rich Hill had the same procedure a few years ago and was able to retu...
re: Phi Slama Jama, dominate teams in any sport that screwed the pooch?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 1:41 pm
The pass was more insane than Moss running past the two DBs. Brady threw that ball nearly 70 yards in the air!...
re: Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert fined $75,000 for money-sign gesture
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 12:49 pm
I question the integrity of the league and its game officials for not issuing a technical and suspending Jamal Murray for throwing objects onto the court in Game 2. ...
re: Rory McIlroy getting divorced
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 12:34 pm
This woman was a jinx to him. McIlroy was on a roll winning two consecutive majors, he becomes involved with her in late 2014 and hasn't won a single major since. Watch him start winning majors again....
‘Has this guy ever made a movie before?’ Francis Ford Coppola’s battle to film Megalopolis
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 12:21 pm
Cast members including Adam Driver have spoken positively of their experience on the film, but, according to other sources, its making was almost as fraught and chaotic as that of Apocalypse Now. Much time and effort was allegedly wasted, crucial crew members quit halfway through and Coppola ...
re: Twittter user says baseball is hardest sport to play because elite athletes “struggle” ?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 9:22 am
I mean it's a skill-based sport that has more in common with golf than sports like football or basketball. Very apples and oranges comparison. And if we're talking about the hardest sport to master, the answer is tennis and it's not even close. There's been successful athletes in football, basketbal...
re: I’ve started this thread before, but if you can’t hit FT in the NBA at 85-90%
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/14/24 at 7:43 am
Thing is everybody in the NBA can hit free throws at 85-90%.

Doing it in a game is just an entirely different matter. Try hitting free throws after running up and down the court, fighting through screens and switches, an...
re: Jokic MVP
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/9/24 at 7:27 am
He's insecure. Most people have him as a top 10 player of all time, but he's still incredibly insecure regarding his legacy. Jokic just won his 3rd MVP as a big man. Shaq is salty because he knows he only won 1 MVP in his career. He doesn't want another big man to have a better legacy than hi...

re: So “Playoff basketball” just means refs allow prison raping unless it’s
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/7/24 at 7:28 am
After the atrocious officiating in the Pacers-Knicks game that played a massive factor in the result of the game, you're complaining about the refs in the Wolves-Nuggets game. Really?...
Hollywood sex scenes have declined by 40% since 2000
Posted by Bench McElroy on 5/3/24 at 1:30 pm
The advent of explicit films such as Poor Things, Saltburn and All of Us Strangers has been heralded as marking a revival of sex on screen – in the face of a reported lack of interest from Gen Z audiences. However, a new report suggests that in fact the Hollywood sex scene is declining fast: ...
re: Doc Rivers, the greatest NBA coach ever has been eliminated, yet again.
I still wonder how he won a championship in Boston

He had an incredible roster with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, and Tony Allen and also had Tom Thibodeau as his lead assistant to run the team for him....
