Especially in the Beechcraft V-tail. That particular plane has the unfortunate nickname of “the doctor killer”

Actually professional pilots say, "Doctors are Bonanza killers"

I’m in Nashville and our local news says an eye witness saw both wings folded backwards and totally out of control obviously, so awful.

I dont understand how people read or see things like that and think it cant happen to them.. and just keep their little flying on the side hobby.. same with motorcycles.. cars/trucks to me are different, since you almost have to have a car to make a living usually .. i realize none of us get out of here alive, but im trying to squeeze out a good 80 or 90 year run, and not endanger my family in pursuit of my hobbies .

Yeah, I’ve seen in here they are called Dr killers, I admit I don’t know much about airplanes but they obviously have a reputation of being unsafe and breaking apart. Has there not been lawsuits against this model plane?

I’m afraid it may have been longer than a few seconds. He was down, then went back and then down again and was asking air traffic control about landing options when they lost contact. I can’t imagine how long those seconds felt.

I wish he hadn’t taken his kids. Two less tragedies.

Seems like a small plane for such a long flight. I'm assuming the interior is nothing but seats and a stick. Not exactly a comfortable private jet.

Been married 53 years in November. Has indeed been a good run.

It was a good decision. By the way, she loves to fly … commercial.

This thread is not about me and my brief aviation career but my wife was an OT9 ( no way you get a picture), I want make it to 54 years.

This situation is so sad and I still worry for a few of my friends who still sail about the skies.

Those of you here that are competent pilots, bless you. It’s not you who we worry about.

I agree with you completely. Small planes, motorcycles, skydiving, going see the Titanic in a rinkydink tin can. No thanks. I'm good.

There are notable plane crashes in all parts of the country yearly where well known people die and it doesn't stop these people from doing this. I guess they're just wired differently and have completely different fears than I do. There will be a lot of anger that those kids were in that plane.

Skydiving is safer than riding in hot air balloons and flying in small hobby planes.

Heard that they were flying to Louisiville to pick up the sister for the 2 adult childrens' graduation from LSU.
The adult children on the plane were graduating D.V.M. and engineering.

Louisville daughter is an M.D. doing her residency.

This story makes me cringe.

So much potential. Two productive young members of society gone to soon. Plus a productive older guy. So sad.
