I'm in same boat.
Currently 245 and need to be 220 at least.
I don't snack and eat well. No booze, no sugary drinks. Lift 4 days a week and do a little steady state cardio before the lifting. Muscles grow but gut persists. I do not get it.

you have to cut calories, you are eating too much
and no you dont need to be 220 unless you are 6'5. prolly need to be closer to 185-190 max.
and jesus some of yall are in denial and Fat AF.
