Do I think it’s kind of dumb? Yes.

Does it hurt no one and does it bring a little joy to others? Also yes.

Let people do the duck thing, don’t be a condescending prick about it. A little joy in the world is a good thing, even if you find it odd.

Note: this is not directed at the OP. Just a comment in general.

Figured as much. My Jeep had a cheap Pioneer that may or may not still be there when you got back to it and I usually sprayed a water hose inside of it when it got muddy. More of a reason as to why own a new Jeep?

I’ve driven a Jeep for 13 years and I’ve only been “ducked” once.

Would much rather have this than a jeep but people are way too proud of them

Have an 04 TJ, only been ducked in public once, but the grandbabies liked it so I put it on the dash when they are with me.

It’s crazy how obsessed people are with the most unreliable vehicles on the planet

27 years and 250,000 miles. I used to lead trails once a month, put it over rocks, mudholes, down dusty dirt roads.

Still running like a top. My radio did go out in 2002.

In all honesty, its the king of off-road. Like buying an M5 and someone saying "why, BMW is unreliable."

Never been ducked, though.

Had a 98 jeep wrangler that was totalled by a 17 year old kid pulling out in front of me about 3 years ago. It had 275k miles at the time and was just a great reliable vehicle for more than 20 years. Loved it but would never buy one after Chrysler purchased Jeep in 99. Never did the duck thing thank goodness.

It's all in fun most people driving Jeeps will give each other the two finger wave when approaching each other while driving. Motorcyclist have a similar wave. A lot of Harley riders don't wear watches.

I wear it as a badge of honor that I’ve never been “ducked” in my CJ.

I did get one on my tj at work one day. I took it inside and threw it away in the break room. The next day one of my techs asked if I found a duck on my Jeep and i immediately knew the jig was up. Her daughter was the one that left the duck on my tj and my tech found the duck in the trash can…

The whole finding no joy in life thing is fricking gay.

So they put ducks on other vehicles that are the same they own?

Do you smile at all?

If you ever get the chance rent a Jeep and drive around some of the state parks in Utah and go to Moab. Take some of the easier scenic trails in a rental I think you might look at Jeeps in a different way.

The Jeep is just a MySpace page you can sit in and drive around.

I will say that we’ve really enjoyed the jeep since I got it… just cruising around with the wind blowing on you. I use it around my yard too. I’ve used the winch to pull up bushes and pull a trailer around the yard to pick up fallen linbs. After I use it for yard work I look at my wife and kids and say “y’all want to go for a ride?” They all jump in and we cruise around for a while on country roads.
