Depends on what you consider best.

The Searchers had Scar the Comanche as the big bad.


A bunch of the deconstructionist stuff like Unforgiven, Pale Rider, etc, don’t have them.

Pale Rider . Deconstructionist? Interesting.
Pale Rider Is Eastwood’s profane remake of Shane.

I don’t know if Derrida’s philosophical musings influenced Shane. If they did, changing the boy to a young girl and having Shane/Preacher sleep with the mother hardly revolutionizes or renews the genre so much as vulgarize and cheapen it.

On the other hand, maybe that’s the point of the changes considering my response to them. Deconstructionist may apply after all.
