Indiana Fever Head Coach Christie Sides was an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at ULM two years ago.

She had been coaching High School and College basketball for 20+ years and had never, until this gig, been a Head Coach.

Seriously, process that for a minute.

The Baton Rouge native is in no way qualified for this job or even a high school head coach job.

I seriously believe she will be fired in the next 10-14 days and be replaced in an interim manner by the Iowa Head Coach that conveniently just retired.

There are good Coaches in the WNBA. Atlanta and Dallas Coaches truly get a lot out of the talent they have and understand game situation very well.

Let be honest here. It’s a league of women players, coached by women and run COMPLETELY by women.

Women in general are simply Not as good at Business as men.

Clark and Reese. That’s the only WNBA players I know and don’t plan on watching them play. I hear they are really good at lay ups

This your first wnba game?

Its a terrible product

I can honestly say I've never watched a minute and I don't really plan to. And they seem to be pushing back on the one person who has finally gotten some people watching because some question the reason as if it should matter to a league that's been struggling since it's inception for any spec of recognition.

Then I see Alexis Morris can't even make the end of the bench on any roster which I find hard to believe and she says it's because they reserve bench spots for old veterans who rarely play so as to take care of them. Not sure if true but if so it explains even more the disconnect.

WNBA 101 – Don’t shoot the ball. Throw it at the and hoop and hope it somehow goes in.

Final game with Iowa - 4/7. First WNBA preseason game - 5/3. Crazy turnaround.

the wnba refs are gonna destroy their cash cow
wnba gonna eat their own

if you don't change your product to what the masses want to see then it will never be a viable product

even the NFL, NBA and MLB realize that and have adapted to what their market wants to see

The WNBA is the worst run, most toxic sports league in the history of mankind.

Its NEVER turned a profit. In what capitalist country would it still be in business? Apparently we're not as capitalist as we think.. Or we pick and choose capitalism depending on societal agenda.

When I watch college or pro sports...especially when I PAY MONEY to watch college or pro sports...I want to be wowed. I want to see people do amazing things that I could never do, or that do it at a level way beyond what I could ever have done myself.

I've seen Martina Navratilova play tennis at Wimbledon. I can be entertained by watching Olympic (or even Alabama) gymnastics or swimming.

What puts thw WNBA behind the 8 ball is that millions of males who were good high school players are sitting out there saying "my high school team could have kicked their asses". And while, since they may be die hard Bama or LSU or Iowa fans, or whatever, they may occasionally support their school. But they'll never invest time or money in watching the WNBA.

I went with a friend to watch LSU at Vandy this year, because he had gotten tickets and invited me. The Vandy gym was less than half full, and the majority of those were LSU fans. There are boys high school basketball teams all over middle Tennessee that could beat Vandy's women. Why are they going to pay good money to go to a WNBA game? They won't.

yeah, it's the coach's fault women suck at basketball.

C'mon, that's not fair.

They suck at comedy too.

And to be honest, their house cleaning could use some improvement.

Am I the only one who finds it a little crazy that Caitlin Clark is playing for a professional team barely a month after her final college game? Only sport that's comparable is baseball where the professional baseball seasons lasts three months after the end of the College World Series. But a lot of college players who get drafted are either shutdown or play a minimal amount of games at a much lower level than the Major Leagues. Clark and all other rookies have to play a full 40 game schedule at the highest level after a 30-40 game college schedule with only a month of rest in between. That's almost an NBA-type work load.

You probably need to get some better coaches in the WNBA but they are paid a lot more to coach college

Staley should be coaching in the WNBA

Fun fact: Fever head coach was an assistant on Pokeys staff at LSU, WNBA staffs, and overseas

Also, use to have her number. Sure it’s changed since then

In the NHL there are guys who sign their NHL contract right after the Frozen Four and play in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Broxk Faber last year was an important player for the Wild in the playoffs.

And that's why, without the "homerism" that college sports brings, I seriously doubt (despite the media's best efforts) that the WNBA will ever catch on.

The product and people will eventually get tired of watching that product just for Clark. I think the league will seriously regret expanding.
