if you are getting into street fights with legit boxers or MMA guys, you are probably going home with an arse beating or worse. So, moral of the story is stay out of street fights even if you are a Black Belt in BJJ or take some boxing lessons as well.
Or if you win, you just get jumped or shot after.
Who’s that Tasmanian devil looking dude that’s been training kids all up and down Old Jefferson since the 90’s? Did he hit gold since all this went mainstream?

Well it's obviously too late for travel ball. I don't know what BJJ or this other shite is, but I can guarantee there's someone available to take your money.

Bayou Jiu Jitsu is my favorite in Bston Rouge. That is where I train when I’m in town. There is one on airline and old Hammond and one in Central. The instructor at the Baton Rouge location is Brazilian and an absolute machine.

We have training to get you out of those situations as well, but it is an add on.

I second Gracie United Ascension Team Jucao. Lil SI has been going for a couple years now. A lot of the kids are involved in other sports as well but are anchored in BJJ. Professor Robbie is a good dude and I definitely recommend giving it a shot, first weeks free.
They also have Apex wrestling, seems to be gaining a lot traction.

Professor Robbie at Gracie United Ascension was a former LSU cheerleader. That might be something your son could relate with. There’s also competitive class( Team Jucao) for kids looking to do tournaments.

I always felt judo would be a great martial
Art to know for street fights.usually when I watch a fight and a throw or slam is involved that’s the end.

What does your son want to do? I’d start there with his interests.

Check out the Axis team at David Vincent’s martial arts on bluebonnet.

Judo is brutal and definitely a young man's game. A judoka would scare me the most to square up to. You also get the added benefit of the BJJ ground game, although watered down.
To OP, you may be better off sticking to an established organization like Gracie United already mentioned.
I looked up the JM site. They may very well be legit, but the write up makes it sound like they do more MMA they standard BJJ. There also didn't seem to be instructor bios/lineage or BJJ affiliation on their site.
